    This is why we love auctions. The stroll through the exhibition halls, carefully selecting our favourite lots, the excitement when the bidding starts, and the moment the hammer falls on the winning bid.

    No matter if we win or lose, we love the element of surprise in every step of the game. And it shouldn't matter if we're actually present, at our computer, or browsing on our phone.

    The excitement of an auction should remain the same, and this was our aim when we took Lauritz into the mobile era with its app.

    The app made it possible to browse, monitor, bid, and win by using your phone alone. Roughly half of all bids are now placed via smartphones.

  • Digitalizing the real experience

    In 2014 we partnered up again - this time to supplement the app with a responsive remake of the Lauritz website - and give users the full auction experience, with a digital overview that superseded the actual display rooms.

    The new responsive website made it possible to place bids, register items for auction, and request valuations in your mobile browser. It was made to mirror the design of the app, and the navigational structure of the existing website.

    With Google Analytics, we uncovered every step of the user journey, mapped site traffic, and improved every step in the auction process.

  • To show your favourite items and brands, we teamed up with Cap Gemini to build a recommendation engine that presents the items that you're most likely to love, based on your previous activity.

    This makes every display room unique, designed to reflect your taste, and the things you usually scout for, but still with elements of surprise.
